Super El Gouna
El Gouna is a piece of artificial paradise, created by the efforts of architects and builders right in the desert on the shores of the Red Sea.
The city is located 25 kilometers north of Hurghada and is built in a unified architectural style, combining Mediterranean and oriental influences. Even the color scheme of the buildings is sandy and mustard-colored.
Local millionaire Samih Sawiris has realized his dream: he’s built a Venice in Egypt. It seems utterly impossible. But today, anyone can see it with their own eyes.
El Gouna consists of more than 20 islands. There are also numerous private islands with villas. Almost all of them are connected to the mainland by bridges. Some are only accessible by boat or motorboat. During the resort’s construction, kilometers of canals were dug to carry seawater.
